The book of Hebrews speaks of rewards in the future that the faithful believer will receive. A Christian can either lose or obtain those rewards when Christ returns. In the next few blogs I would like to look at a few of the other verses in the book that shows the author is talking to believers. The Kingdom of Christ was set up at His first coming. We are not waiting for the Kingdom of Christ to begin in the future. It has already begun. Of course, there is the Heavenly Kingdom of the future which follows the Judgment and which all believers will inherit. This Heavenly Kingdom is the ultimate form of Christ’s Kingdom.
pp This book is an abridgement of Dr Venema’s highly acclaimed, major study, The Promise of the Future. Prepared especially with the non-specialist reader in mind, Christ and the Future expertly summarizes the Bible’s teaching about the last things. The Christ-centred nature of the biblical teaching on the future is the main emphasis throughout, as the author shows us the future. 18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. 19 For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. 20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay.

Was the book of Revelation written for 1st century Christians, or for Christians today? Anonymous GodWords Reader. That’s a great question. A lot of books have been written in the past few decades that pretend to have all of the answers, but people are still confused. I think there’s a good reason for this confusion, and believe that we should read the Bible for ourselves instead of simply.

Laruelle here thinks philosophically and theologically to enact a universal rebellion realized through a heretical science, and if this book is.
The message of the cross makes the future bright. Futurism is a Christian eschatological view that interprets portions of the Book of Revelation, the Book of Ezekiel, and the Book of Daniel as future events in a literal, physical, apocalyptic, and global context.
By comparison, other Christian eschatological views interpret these passages as past events in a symbolic, historic context (Preterism and Historicism), or as present-day events in. Preterism argues that Revelation refers only to events of the first century, although there may be a hope for a final return of Christ in the future in the book.
Futurism believes that most of Revelation predicts events in the future (a real tribulation full of judgment, etc.) Idealists and Historicists both see Revelation as referring to the. Future Faith is an excellent book for navigating the way forward in the 21st century.
Having trod a similar path for the past 40+ years as the author, albeit in a different tribe, I found this a faithful view of where we have been as the church in America and where we must s: Jesus Christ hit the nail on the head in describing humanity’s accelerating slide toward self-destruction: “And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved” (Matthew ).The prophetic end times are marked by our ability to annihilate ourselves with weapons of mass destruction—and by the growing coldness of heart and evilness of mind that make extinction seem inevitable.
God told Isaiah what the future had in store for the kingdom and people of Israel, and even told Isaiah that a man named “Cyrus” would command that the Temple be rebuilt. But where do you find Christ pictured in the book of Deuteronomy? Ada Habershon, in The Study of Types, lists 67 types and 13 contrasts between Moses and Christ. The Lord Jesus is seen in a twofold way in the book of Deuteronomy: by prophecy and by type.My favorite insight of all in The Universal Christ is this one: "I cannot help but think that future generations will label the first two thousand years of Christianity “early Christianity.” They will, I believe, draw out more and more of the massive implications of this understanding of a Cosmic Christ.
